The design of the structure was dependant on not only its strength and resistance to the extreme conditions of space, but strict weight budgets that are in place for CubeSat's launched from the ISS. The team also wanted to consider how simple the design would be to manufacture. For these reasons, the team opted for the current design on the right over some initial designs that used more complex patterns on the walls and more material.
